How to Use
  1. Check skin and directions: read the wax warnings before starting. Do not wax sunburned, broken, irritated or recently peeled skin, or excluded areas such as eyelids, eyelashes, nipples, perianal or vaginal areas and mucous tissue. Crybaby Wax directions exclude use with retinol or tretinoin. Ask your clinician whether and when waxing is appropriate; do not stop prescribed treatment to wax.
  2. Patch test first: check wax temperature, wax a small part of the intended treatment area and wait 24 hours. Proceed only if no reaction occurs. A wrist-temperature check is a separate check before each use.
  3. Prepare: hair should be at least 1/4 inch long. Gently cleanse away lotion, oil and surface residue, then dry the skin fully. Use a light dusting of A Wail of a Time Talc-Free Priming Powder only if extra moisture needs absorbing. Powder does not prevent burns or skin lifting. Priming powder is sold separately.
  4. Heat with the full-size Meltdown Machine: fully melt the wax, reduce the setting to 150 F, stir and allow cooling until it pours like honey. If it runs like water, let it cool; if stiff like paste, warm it in the pot and check again. Test a small amount on your inner wrist before use; it should feel comfortably warm, never burning. A dial setting or green light does not replace this check.
  5. Apply: choose a small area you can see clearly and control. Spread an even, continuous layer with a clean applicator in the direction of hair growth, leaving an edge you can grip. Keep wax off excluded areas. Hard wax does not need a fabric strip.
  6. Remove: lightly touch the outer edge with a clean fingertip. If it sticks or draws strings, wait and check again. Once no longer sticky, hold skin taut and pull quickly against hair growth, low and parallel to skin. Leave missed hairs alone instead of repeating passes. Never heat a patch already on your skin.
  7. Aftercare: on intact skin, gently massage a small amount of You Big Softie Finishing Oil to loosen residue and condition skin. It contains sweet almond and soybean oils; check your sensitivities. If also using Just Cool It Calming Mango Gel, apply gel first. Do not apply oil to burns or broken skin. Avoid immediate makeup, scrubbing and hot baths; ask your clinician when to restart retinoids or other active treatments. Finishing oil is sold separately.
  8. Finish: stop if skin burns, blisters, lifts or becomes increasingly painful; seek medical advice for injured skin. Turn off, unplug and let the warmer cool completely before cleaning or storage. Follow its cleaning instructions.

The Crybaby Wax Starter Kit includes your choice of one 6.5 oz Meltdown Vegan Hard Wax jar, the full-size 17 oz Meltdown Machine warmer, Get a Grip Face & Body Applicators (70 sticks), and Stiff Upper Rip Wax Pull Tabs (50 tabs). Priming powder and aftercare products are sold separately.

Check the selected formula's ingredients and warnings, then patch test a small part of the intended area 24 hours before waxing. Crybaby Wax hard wax is vegan and rosin-free but contains fragrance. Those labels do not guarantee irritation-free waxing. Do not wax irritated, sunburned, broken or otherwise compromised skin. Ask a clinician about skin treatments or medications before waxing if you are unsure.

I'm Sensitive Meltdown Vegan Hard Wax is a starting option for fine or coarse facial hair on areas permitted by its directions. It is rosin-free and contains fragrance, so check ingredients and patch test first. PCOS alone does not establish that your skin is suitable for waxing. Follow the formula's warnings, including its restrictions for retinol or tretinoin use and recent chemical peels; ask your clinician when needed.

Hard wax beads melt into wax that sets into a removable strip, so fabric strips are not required. After fully melting the wax in the full-size Meltdown Machine, reduce its setting to 150 F and let the wax cool to a thick honey-like texture. Stir and check a small amount on your inner wrist: it should feel comfortably warm. Apply as directed and wait until the outer edge is no longer sticky, then pull quickly and low, parallel to the skin. A timer or warmer setting alone does not establish that wax is ready.

Hard wax sets into its own strip; soft wax stays tacky and is removed with a fabric or paper strip. The appropriate method depends on the product directions, area and skin condition. Both can irritate or lift skin. Follow the selected formula's instructions and do not repeatedly wax the same spot to chase missed hairs.

Yes. Crybaby Wax serves both consumers and licensed wax professionals. The starter kit is suitable for estheticians who want a portable hard wax setup, are trialing Crybaby Wax before switching their service room, or need a second station. Wholesale pricing is available through the Crybaby Wax pro program

Crybaby Wax hard wax is formulated for fine or coarse hair on the areas allowed by each formula's directions. I'm Sensitive is a starting option for facial hair; Full On is another option for permitted body areas. Let hair reach at least 1/4 inch, cleanse and fully dry the skin, and check wax texture and temperature. A first-pass result is not guaranteed. Do not repeatedly wax the same spot.

Read the selected formula's warnings and patch test the intended area 24 hours ahead. Let hair reach at least 1/4 inch, cleanse and fully dry the skin; use a light dusting of priming powder only if extra moisture remains. Fully melt the wax in the full-size Meltdown Machine, reduce its setting to 150 F, and let the wax cool to a thick honey-like texture. Stir and check a small amount on your inner wrist. Apply a small, even strip with hair growth and leave a gripping edge. When the outer edge is no longer sticky, hold skin taut and pull quickly against growth, low and parallel to the skin. Do not re-wax the same spot. Follow your aftercare product's directions on intact skin. See the beginner guide for the complete steps and troubleshooting.
